Pixar's WALL-E print in the style of STAR WARS - signed by Fred Willard
16" x 20" - print of a digital painting
by Victor Navone
2008
In 2008, Pixar Animation Studios released their environmentally friendly film (at least in its plot) WALL•E about a futuristic garbage gathering robot who falls in love. Audiences around the world gravitated to the little guy's struggle with the very human emotions he had towards the object of his affection, Eve. At the end of the production, animator Victor Navone created this digital painting in the style of Greg & Tim Hildebrandt's famous image for the very first Star Wars movie poster. Victor has donated this rare large high quality photographic print of his image, signing it in silver with a little sketch of WALL•E himself!
IN ADDITION: Recently, actor FRED WILLARD (Best In Show, Anchorman) signed this print as well. Fred played Shelby Forthright, the human (not animated) CEO of Buy & Large that kept appearing on monitors throughout the movie
Victor Navone is an artist and animator at Pixar Animation Studios. He is trained as a fine artist and worked for several years as a designer in the video game industry. In 1998 he began teaching himself computer animation, and one of his early learning exercises entitled Alien Song went on to become a viral internet video. It caught the attention of Pixar, who hired him in 2000. He has animated on most of Pixar's films since then, including Monsters Inc., Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, and Cars. His work on WALL•E won him a Visual Effects Society award, as well as an Annie Award nomination. In 2008, Victor co-directed a series of Cars Toons for television, and went on to animate on Toy Story 3. In 2010 he will be working on Cars 2.
